TRIMBAKESHWAR JYOTHIRLINGA TEMPLE

Trimbakeshwar
The Jyothirling
Located about 30kms from Nashik, Trimbakeshwar is one of the rare Jyothirlinga temple where Lord Shiva is worshiped along with Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma.

The sacred river Godavari too takes her Birth here and the place is doubly divine.
The town is located on the foothills of Brahmagiri and is very beautiful.
Shrad (Worship of deceased Elders) is done here.
The performing of important rituals like
NARAYANA BALI
KAAL SARPA DOSHA
PITRU DOSHA
SHRADHA
etc are done here and is considered to get rid of all your sins and take you to the path of salvation.

YOU CAN TOUCH THE LORD HERE!!!

For touching lord Trimbakeshwar people should wear uni cloths (i.e. a cloth called "sovale" in marathi). Only gents can touch lord trimbakeshwar pindi with wearing sovale. Ladies can’t go inside to touch trimbakeshwar pindi

You will have step down 3-4 steps inside the Garba Griha and then touch the LORD.
Oh! What a feeling !!!

OFFER DARBHA (GRASS) TO COWS HERE!

Once he saw a cow grazing in the paddy field and he drove her away by throwing Darbha (sharp, pointed grass). Rishi Gautama requested Rishis to show a way out of this sin of killing a Cow!. He was counsel to approach Lord Shiva and request him to release Ganges and a bath in the Ganges would set him free of his sins. Lord Shiva ensured that Mother Ganga appear here in the form of Godavari and thus the sin of killing a cow by Gautama was wiped off here.

Very Crowded but queue keeps moving and hence not much of a problem.
Bargain Hard with the Brahmins for the "fees" of the Pooja.
Everything is negotiable here!
But, whatever you pay, do not miss to touch the divine lord and get his blessings.
